As you note in my previous blogs, I work for an Internet Provider doing technical support. You may wonder why I have entitled this blog “Good People vs Bad People”, so I will tell you. In the world, there are good people and bad people. Good people are those who do good things (whether its as small as doing a small favour to donating to charity) and try their best to be honest and respectable people. They do their jobs well and work hard to make others happy. Bad people are people who don’t do any of this. Don’t get me wrong, good people can be like this too, but bad people are mostly to blame. See, when you either dont like your job or flat out dont care, you sometimes do things in the workplace that aren’t meant to be done. Here is a problem I had today:

 For the sake of names, lets call her Ms. Frustrated. She has every right to be frustrated, but the problem is this: when she was sold a product, she was told that a particular service would be free. Sadly, it was not. The person she happened to call before me, not caring for her or his job, told her he was signing her onto a service that was free. It was not. So when I got her and had to tell her the truth, she ripped into me quicker than a child to its halloween sack. I tried to explain to Ms. Frustrated that in all honesty, the other worker was probably just telling her what she wanted to hear. This is where she twists my words and makes everything targeted at the company. She says that my provider tells customers what they want to hear to get their business. I didn’t say that, Ms. Frustrated. Then I tried to make her understand the “good person, bad person” idea and she didn’t take it. Because she owns a business and she NEVER tells customers what they want to hear, everyone must be the same way. Wrong. I applaud you, Ms. Frustrated, for being the good person you are and for being so naive as to believe your own statement.  

Fact is simply this: IN EVERY BUSINESS YOU HAVE PEOPLE THAT WILL TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE YELLING AT THEM TO GET YOUR INTERNET UP! …. duh…

So in conclusion, and this is a direct note to Ms Frustrated.. get HALF a clue on the world around you. Not everything or everyone is all sunshine and lollipops. Some people LIE.  I mean this in the most sincerest way: Have a nice day!
